CAMRA Monthly raffle Terms and Conditions

“CAMRA”, “we”, “us” and “our” shall be a reference to CAMRA 230 Hatfield Road, St Albans, AL1 4LW, Company No: 1270286 (England and Wales); “entrants” “you” and “your” means a person entering into the CAMRA Monthly Raffle.

  1. The cost of each entry is £1. Players may purchase more than one entry and payment must be in advance. The maximum number of entries for an individual in each monthly draw is 20. Entry is open to all UK residents excluding the Channel Islands, Scilly Isles & Isle of Man. Entry also excludes CAMRA employees, members of CAMRA’s National Executive, members of the Commercial Committee and third parties directly involved in the administration or management of the raffle.
  2. Not to be sold by or to anyone under 18 years of age. Any person found to be under 18 years of age automatically forfeits the right to any prize.
  3. Your unique raffle number(s) will be generated and confirmed by post within 21 days. Your number(s) will remain the same each month. No ticket will be supplied.
  4. The monthly draw will be conducted every second Friday of the month. The draw will be conducted by a random number generator which will select the winning numbers. Only ticket numbers for players with sufficient credit at the time of the draw will be eligible for prizes. Late or missed payments may result in a player’s raffle numbers not being eligible for every draw.
  5. The winning numbers will be published on camra.org.uk/raffle

    Results will be available from the first working day after the draw.
  6. There are no alternatives to any prize and no interest will be payable. If you pay by Direct Debit, prizes will be paid directly into your bank account, otherwise a cheque will be sent within 21 days. Physical prizes will be despatched directly to the address registered with the raffle department. Where the winners cannot be contacted after 90 days, the prize money will be treated as a CAMRA donation. Any cheques remaining uncashed for over 6 months will be cancelled and the prize withdrawn.
  7. Prizes are as follows:
    • £1000 cash prize
    • £500 cash prize
    • £100 cash prize x 3
    • Selection of beers (6 bottles or cans) x 25
    • £5 voucher to be spent online as part of the CAMRA shop x 50
  8. Of the estimated £96,000 generated in ticket sales each year, 20% will go on expenses which means an amazing 80% is returned to CAMRA to fund our work. 30% of all sales is allocated to fund the prizes and the odds of winning a prize is 1 in 960.
  9. CAMRA is not responsible for any delays in bank payments.
  10. No liability is accepted for loss, theft or delayed receipt of any communication sent by post.
  11. CAMRA or its External Lottery Manager may (without giving any reason or notice) decline to accept an application, cancel an existing subscription or terminate or suspend the raffle scheme. CAMRA or its External Lottery Manager’s decisions made regarding the rules shall, once made, be final and binding.

  13. CAMRA will collect and process participants’ personal information in order to conduct the raffle, and data will be shared with CAMRA’s agents to the extent necessary for the raffle to be administered and prizes to be delivered to winners. Players’ personal details from their entry to the raffle will be collected and stored by CAMRA and held in accordance with the applicable privacy policy in place. Visit camra.org.uk/raffle for more information. CAMRA will send participants marketing materials in accordance with any marketing preferences provided by the individual. CAMRA reserves the right to use the winner’s details for promotional purposes. These will only be in summary, for example Mrs Jones, Bracknell.
  14. CAMRA maintains a record of customer funds separately from general company/charity funds. This means that steps have been taken to separately account for customer funds from company/charity funds, however those funds are not protected if CAMRA becomes insolvent. This meets the Gambling Commission’s requirements for the segregation of customer funds at the basic level of protection.
  15. These terms and conditions are governed by English law. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear any dispute or claim arising in association with the raffle or these terms and conditions.
  16. CAMRA operates a complaints and disputes procedure. If you have a complaint, you can ring our CAMRA Monthly Raffle team on 01628 369124 or email raffle@camra.org.uk. If you are unhappy with the way a complaint is resolved, you can contact the Independent Betting Adjudication Service (IBAS). IBAS acts as an impartial adjudicator on disputes that arise between betting/gambling operators and their customers.
  17. This raffle is a form of gambling. Participants are encouraged to gamble sensibly. Should gambling become a problem we recommend you contact the GambleAware helpline on 0808 8020 133 or visit the website on gambleaware.org.
  18. All proceeds from this raffle will go towards the work that we do to achieve our objectives.

Direct Debit Guarantee

  • If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit CTT Charity Payments re CAMRA will notify you 5 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed.
  • If you request CTT Charity Payments re CAMRA to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request.
  • If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit, by CTT Charity Payments re CAMRA or your Bank or Building Society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your Bank or Building Society.
    • If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when CTT Charity Payments re CAMRA asks you to.
  • You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your Bank or Building Society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also notify us.
